The Dental Hygiene Suite in Truro
The Dental Hygiene practice first opened its doors in June 2016 and was founded by Catherine Owers and Leon Leondiades. We offer a dedicated direct access dental hygiene service that is available to all, whether “walking in off the street”, by appointment or on a referral basis by your dentist.
Your Local Dental Practice Truro
We offer a great new flexible, friendly, caring and efficient dental cleaning service where you can now book an appointment with a dental hygienist without the need to visit a dentist first. This means that you are able to continue to see your NHS/private dentist as normal elsewhere and visit us for your dental hygiene appointments (cosmetically or for the treatment of gum disease).
Catherine Owers
Having worked in the dental industry for over 15 years she has attained a huge level of professional experience working her way up as a dental nurse in Cornwall to finally graduating from Bristol University Dental Hospital as a Dental Hygienist in 2013.
During her early years as a Dental Hygienist she worked amongst some of the most reputable practices in Bristol perfecting her skill including working alongside Periodontists and a Specialist implant clinic. It was during these few years that her ambition grew after learning more about the Direct Access service enabling patients to see a hygienist for treatment directly rather than see a dentist first. This spurred her on to return to Cornwall and set up her very own dental hygiene practice showcasing her passion for oral hygiene service granting local patients priority to help improve their oral health. In June 2016 her dream finally became a reality and ‘The Dental Hygiene Suite’ was finally established, which is Cornwall’s first and only dedicated ‘Direct Access’ Dental Hygiene only practice. Fast forward to the present day and she’s expanded into an even bigger practice, built an amazing team and managed to become a 3 x time Oral Health awards winner.
When she isn’t busy running the practice she enjoys walking and exploring the beautiful Cornish coast, taking part in active runs, paddleboarding, watching movies and spending time with her family.
